wat too costly for what you get April 14, 2010 merryable (Madison, WI United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am really surpised by all the five star reviews. This game is just keeping tabs on when you exercise and then having wager cards that basically are worthless for me and my sister who wanted to play the game. It was a waste of $[...]. A board to mark of the exercise days and two decks of wager cards that most people will find won't pertain to them (you feed the dog for one week etc). Do not waste your money on this one.
Very Versatile Fitness game January 7, 2010 Thomas R. Boward (St Davids, PA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am about to begin my fourth Fitness Challenge with the help of this game. One of the things I liked best was its versatility. I've played it with my spouse, my child, my coworker and for my New Year's resolution I am about to play with my mother.
I started off playing at the beginner level since I haven't worked out in years and am now playing at the intermediate level. My opponents can play at their own fitness levels and everyone has the same chance to win. There are over a 100 wagering coupons with categories for every type of player. Some are for around the house, some are for kids. And many are for adults -like a spa day, sporting event, gift cards, cash etc.
The game even includes blank coupons to make your own prize. The quality of the game parts is impressive. I like the way it's reusable - the game board hangs on the refrigerator and comes with a dry erase pen. The point stickers are removable and can be used over and over. All in all it's a great motivator. When I fall off the wagon, I just start a new 8-week challenge and get myself going again.
Maybe OK, if you're 12 years old. Way over-priced. December 31, 2009 Martee Crosson (LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm not sure what I expected of this "game": a little fun built around enduring my boring exercise routine at least... but the included wager cards for rewards like "I don't have to clean my room.", "I get my own cell phone." and "I get a slumber party." (plus cheesy star stickers) place this game solidly in the Juvenile Aisle. An embarrassing waste of money in my opinion. Unfortunately, you MUST open it to see what it is... and by then, it's too late to return. Bah!
Fantastic idea April 3, 2009 M. Jorgensen (Orem, Utah) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is without a doubt, a fantastic idea. My wife hates exercise, but is extremely competitive. This game is perfect of her and gives her motivation to actually workout.
The game is made up of quality items, and set up such that it can be played over and over again, which is a key to getting people to play again. Obesity is taking over the U.S., get the game for your family/wife/kids/spouse, and see the changes that take place! I can't believe it took this long for a game like this to be developed.
Motivation for Competitors September 12, 2008 K. Ballard (USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This game is an excellent motivational tool for those couples with a competitive nature. If if you don't win the points for the week or month, you can still win in making excerise a habit and loosing weight. I've lost 7 pounds in the first two weeks of "playing."
